panna cotta classic italian no bake dessert

Panna Cotta – Basic and Classic recipe

I like fast and easy meals, and the same applies to desserts so after trying panna cotta at restaurants I’ve decided to prepare it at home. I’m telling you it’s delish!

The temperatures are going higher and higher, and the last thing anybody wants it’s to turn on the oven but that doesn’t mean dessert it’s banned. So besides ice cream, sometimes I just want to eat something that is easy to make but so tasty.

What I love the most about this dessert, it’s the fact that preparation time takes little and you can make it ahead, but also lasts for a few days in the fridge.

Ingredients

  • 300 ml milk
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 g sugar
  • 5 g gelatine
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a small bowl with cold water, sprinkle the gelatin over the top and let it stir for a few minutes.
  • Into a saucepan add the milk and sugar, and bring it to a boil while stirring it. After it starts boiling, add the gelatine and stir until it's dissolved. Take it off the stove.
  • Add the cream and the vanilla extract.
  • Pour the mix into 4 glasses or ramekins. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours or until is completely set.

Of course, you can serve panna cotta with fresh fruits or by making a quick sauce. I made mine by combining fresh raspberries with 1/2 of a cup of water and 2 tablespoons of sugar. I let it for about 3-5 minutes at medium heat.

Enjoy!
